How does the Day Rate work?

The difference between a day rate and an hourly rate booking.

Updated last month

GoGet bookings are calculated using either an hourly rate or a daily rate. Our system automatically guarantees you the lowest possible price for your booking.✅

If you make an hourly booking, but the combined cost of the hours and kilometres is more expensive than the day rate, we will automatically upgrade your booking to the day rate, with 80km included for free.

Even if your booking is automatically upgraded to a day rate, you'll still need to return the vehicle by the original end time. If you need more time, you can easily extend your booking through the GoGet app. ⏱️📲

The cost of kilometres are calculated depending on whether your booking is charged at an hourly rate or a daily rate, and whether you book a car or a van or ute.

  • Hourly: $0.50/km for cars, $0.52 for vans and utes
  • Daily: $0.40/km & 80km free for cars, $0.42/km & 80km free for vans and utes
