GoGet cars lock themselves after 10 minutes, as a security precaution. This can be a problem if you swipe into a car, enter, and don’t start the engine straight away.

If you’ve entered the car, taken a phone call or just had a breather for a while and then go to start up the car, the alarm might sound.

  1. Wait for it to finish

  2. Swipe your smartcard over the card reader. You can do this from inside the car.

  3. Try to start the car again. If the alarm goes off, try swiping again.

The yellow light on the card reader, visible from inside the car, shows you whether the car is locked or not. Flashing means unlocked, steady means locked. If you’re not sure, check the light before starting the car, and swipe your card if it’s steady.
